Stay active this summer, in the little-known resort of La Féclaz, with Summer France

Situated in the Savoie Grand Revard area, which is sometimes referred to as ‘little Canada’ due to the similarities in landscape, the resort of La Féclaz is known for its tranquillity, beautiful scenery, range of activities and value for money.
Nestled just over an hour (by car) from Lyon or Geneva airport, guests can access more than 7,000 kilometres of signposted walking trails and explore the many mountain biking routes, plus play a round of golf, try horse riding and even find out what it is like to fly, with a paragliding instructor. Dedicated hikers can challenge themselves by trekking from the Sire in La Féclaz to the Croix du Nivolet – a monumental summit cross at an altitude of 1,547 metres. Guests after a challenge, can sign up to a Via Ferrata course, which includes a narrow footbridge offering incredible vistas of the mountains. And for those wanting more mesmerising views, the l’Orionde chairlift – in the centre of La Féclaz – is an ideal way to ascend to enjoy 360-degree panoramas.
There are plenty of family-friendly activities available too. Doria’s Cliffs are home to spectacular waterfalls and while there, keep an eye out for the wide range of flora and fauna, including Chamois, Marmot and (even the very rare) Lynx. Plus, the Piste de Luge Tubing in the neighbouring town of Le Revard offers a quirky adventure – sitting in a round, rubber buoy, slide down a 180 metre track with banked turns (minimum age three). Alternatively, small children (and their parents) can enjoy the simple pleasures of life: watching the local farmer milk his dozen cows in the small barn in the village and, afterwards, taste the creamy locally-produced cheeses.
La Féclaz comprises a range of accommodation, many restaurants and bars plus an attractive church and some small craft stores, all of which create a welcoming, friendly and traditional atmosphere. Its smaller size means it offers a peaceful retreat and attracts lots of locals; guests will feel as though they have left the UK, can practise their French and experience an authentic, laid back summer stay.
Although there is plenty to do in La Feclaz and the neighbouring towns in the Savoie Grand Revard, it is easy to jump in a car and explore further afield. Discover the cobbled streets of Chambéry town centre, sign up to a selection of water sports in Aix-les-Bains and visit the magnificent Mont Granier peak, which lies in the Chartreuse Mountains (Chartreuse is the green or yellow liqueur comprising distilled alcohol aged with 130 herbs, plants and flowers, which has been made by the Carthusian Monks in the Grand Chartreuse monastery since 1737).
After making the most of La Féclaz and the surrounding area during the day, return to Les Chalets du Berger Premium, with Summer France to continue enjoying this enchanting destination into the evening…
Les Chalets du Berger Premium are located in the heart of La Féclaz, close to the shops, services and amenities; guests can enjoy a hassle-free holiday.
All of the chalets (sleeping up to eight people) are built in a classic wooden-style with either balconies or terraces offering wonderful places to sunbathe and incredible views across lush green valley. Alternatively, an indoor pool and relaxing sauna in the complex help loosen those leg muscles after a fun day out and about.
Inside Les Chalets du Berger Premium, families, groups of friends and couples can cook delicious Savoyard-style food in the fully-equipped kitchen, relax in the spacious living area where a big-screen TV and a selection of board games can be found and sing along – or even dance – to music played through the Bluetooth speakers.
Because the accommodation is within strolling distance of the food shops, guests can also purchase fresh, local and tasty ingredients to dine on during their holiday. Alternatively, the excellent selection of restaurants serving delectable French, Italian and European cuisine are ideal for the perfect evening.
Or, for a night out closer to home, grab a drink and head to the reception area, where a sociable space with Wi-Fi and a pool table awaits…
