Ideal activities for the summer holidays, at Les Villages Nature® Paris

Situated just 32 km from Paris, Les Villages Nature® Paris combines nature, architecture, sustainability and learning. The unique environment of the park has been designed to motivate guests to try new things, whether it be activities, sports or classes, in the company of family and friends.

There are more than 100 workshops to choose from, whether it be zooming down the giant slides in the Aqualagon®, learning how to build a den amid the Forest of Legends, harnessing the green-fingered power in the Extraordinary Gardens or meeting the resident animals at BelleVie Farm.

Wanting to appeal to all ages, Les Villages Nature® Paris is continually expanding its inspirational portfolio with new, exciting activities and animations. Recent additions include arrow contact, making your own cuddly animal, learning how to be a lifeguard, building a terrarium and the many options at the new Action Factory.

Plus, after a creative morning, families can make the most of the sparkling lake, next to the welcoming promenade. Here, guests can hire canoes, pedal boats, electric boats and try stand-up paddle boarding. And, after enjoying the water, why not join in with a sociable game of volleyball or badminton on the resort’s very own sandy beach?

Try your hand at Arrow Contact

Awake the warrior inside and put aim, reflexes and athleticism to the test, with Archery Tag. Taking inspiration from professional archery, competitors will be given a bow, arrow (with safely tips) and mask (extra protection) and divided into two teams. After deciding on team names, the more creative the better, the game begins. Throughout play, each team will try and ‘tag’ as many ‘enemies’ as possible; if an arrow hits an enemy’s bow, then they will be ‘tagged’ and, therefore, out of the game. Team mates can save those who are out by shooting one of the spot targets in the arena, alternatively, if the ‘out’ team mate catches one of the arrows in mid-air, then they’re back in. The first team to get every member of the opposing side out wins the match. Archery tag costs from €15 pp / £13 (minimum age 12).

Make your own cuddly animal

Get creative and build a soft toy from scratch during this sociable, relaxed activity. Children, age four to eleven will be able to decide on everything, from the heart to the stuffing and even the clothes. Each heart has its own emoticon carrying a different emotion; kids can choose whether they want their animal to be courageous, strong, loving, kind, and even more. Before leaving the session, children can register the new family member by receiving a birth certificate. Make your own cuddly animal class costs from €25 / £22 per child (age 4+).

Learn how to be a lifeguard for a day

Supervised by a qualified lifeguard, study the key lessons behind this very important job during an active workshop. Children will learn how to spot a swimmer who needs help, throw a rubber ring to aid them, get them out of the pool safely and some useful first-aid techniques, including the recovery position and the basics of CPR. During the training, there will be an opportunity to take part in a ‘real-life’ rescue, to put those new-found skills to the test. Learn how to be a lifeguard costs from €15 / £13 per child (age 10-16).

Build your own terrarium

A terrarium is a glass container containing soil and plants that can either be open or closed. The concept was born 90 years ago, when Doctor Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward – one of the many doctors deriving medicine from plants – observed how, after capturing a cocooned moth hanging from a twig in a jar, that it created its own tiny ecosystem. The plants inside an enclosed terrarium release moisture that condenses inside the vessel and trickles back into the soil. Recently, terrariums have become increasingly popular, with informal classes popping up in many towns and cities. Following this growing trend, Les Villages Nature® Paris now offers a new Terrarium Workshop, where guests have the chance to create their own terrarium, which they can then take home as a unique souvenir. A one-hour Terrarium Workshop costs from €20 / £17 pp (age 4+).

Reach new heights at the Action Factory

The Action Factory opened at the end of December 2018. Situated on the welcoming Lakeside Promenade, this creative indoor space of 800 m² has been designed with the idea families can participate in numerous activities together. Featuring a wide range of thrills, kids (and big kids) can scramble up the 15 climbing blocks with three different levels, reach new heights with rope paths and secure monkey bridges, challenge themselves on the timed 35-metre Ninja Course and join teams for a game of laser quest in the dark. And why not sign up to a series of skilful interactive games that involve cleaning the seabed and exploring a cave on the back of a bat? Prices at the Action Factory vary depending on the activity.
