School of Coding JCA

Leading the Way in Educational Innovation: Outdoor, Indoor, Cyberspace

JCA, renowned for its exceptional educational trips for primary and secondary pupils, is offering a first of its kind School of Coding to Condover Hall Activity Centre, combining school activity based residential trips with hands on digitally focused workshops.

JCA has established a pioneering collaboration with the multi-award-winning School of Coding, to ensure children are at the forefront of innovation in education. Under the guidance of the incredible School of Coding team, students will learn a range of new and transferable skills using the latest in coding software, robots and drones. Presenting school groups with an even greater range of learning opportunities for their activity residential trip, the School of Coding series of workshops offers a new dynamic to learning outside the classroom.

This new partnership marks a significant step towards integrating technology and digital learning seamlessly with traditional activities, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience for students.

JCA is dedicated to aiding schools in preparing their students for careers that may not yet exist in the future. Recognising this challenge was a pivotal motivator for the partnership.

Richard Twynam, Managing Director for JCA, said; “We are in an exciting period of transformation across the JCA family presenting young learners an extended range of opportunities outside the classroom. As a leading name in school activity residentials, the addition of the School of Coding aligns with our passion to continue as pioneers in education and sport.”

As AI, computer science, and coding emerge as pivotal components of the digital landscape, preparing young minds to navigate this terrain becomes key. JCA aims to cultivate the next generation of tech leaders by providing hands-on, digitally focused workshops alongside its renowned residential trips.

Recent research from BAE Systems Digital Intelligence found that almost half of the British public believes a lack of IT and tech education throughout primary and secondary school has been a barrier to a potential career in tech.

Suki Gill, Director of Education and Quality from the School of Coding and AI said. “We’re thrilled to team up with Condover Hall! Together, we’re ready to unleash a whirlwind of adventure and fun, crafting one-of-a-kind experiences through Coding, Robotics and Outdoor activities that’ll have both kids and adults grinning from ear to ear!”

In response, JCA is offering exciting workshops covering STEM, Coding, Engineering and Robotics, seamlessly integrated into its indoor and outdoor activity programmes. From the summer term onwards, Condover Hall in the Shropshire countryside will host activity days enriched with tech workshops, with bespoke options available for future trips.

As part of JCA’s commitment to opening new avenues of interest accessible to boys and girls, the School of Coding has an impressive track record of working with a range of educational establishments as well as being an official UK Government partner.

Initially JCA plans to work primarily with local schools in Shropshire with this pioneering effort to merge outdoor experiences with cutting-edge technology education and help shape future local tech leaders.
