Project Description
Set in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif, Megève is a beautiful and traditional winter sports resort that has been popular with artists, intellectuals and holidaymakers for more than a century. The traffic-free, cobbled medieval centre features an abundance of artisan shops, galleries and an impressive array of four-and-five-star hotels, as well as no less than five Michelin-starred restaurants. But Megève is also becoming increasing popular with British holidaymakers seeking luxury on the slopes without the price tag, thanks to a growing number of chic and affordable accommodation and dining options. What’s more, Megève is only an hour and a quarter from Geneva Airport, which benefits from direct, low-cost flight access from London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Bristol and Leeds.
Beyond traditional skiing and snowboarding, there are a number of truly transformative experiences available to those staying in Megève. Holidaymakers can opt for traditional sleigh-rides through the village centre, a night in an igloo or a spectacular light aircraft flight over the Mont Blanc glaciers. For those seeking high-octane activities, think gliding across the snow on an electric fat bike, Great Northern dog sledding or an evening on the slopes on a snowmobile.
Megève is also a popular summer destination for those wanting to make the most of the lakes and mountains. From June to September, the village is a hive of activity with plenty of biking, hiking and water sports excursions on offer. There are also opportunities to explore the region from up high, with the availability of paragliding, hot air ballooning and parachuting throughout the region.
