June

28 – 30 June – MB Race
Born in 2010 amidst the rugged trails of Megève and Combloux, the MB Race emerges as the quintessential mountain biking extravaganza in the Pays du Mont-Blanc. Renowned for its arduous yet awe-inspiring races and courses, this event unfolds across the majestic terrain of Mont-Blanc and Val d’Arly, departing and arriving in 12 municipalities including Megève amongst other. A beacon in the mountain biking panorama, the MB Race distinguishes itself by featuring a one-day event encompassing a grueling 140 km distance with a staggering 7,000 metres of elevation gain. The MB Ultra Somfy, the crown jewel of the event, saw only one triumphant finisher in its inaugural year, solidifying its status as the world’s most formidable mountain biking race. From June 28 to 30 cyclists are invited to converge upon Megève and Combloux to partake in this extraordinary event. With offerings tailored for enthusiasts and amateurs alike, young and old, solo riders or families, the MB Race caters to all with its diverse array of 10 events, including the MB Ultra Somfy 140|100|70 km, MB Explore 20|35|55 km, MB Erando Sportive ATMB 20|40, MB FTT 20 km, MB e-Rando Découverte ATMB 15 km, MB Kids, MB Draisienne, and the MTB Alpine Cup. This year, as a one off the MB Ultra Somfy route will be shared with the UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup, giving runners the chance to start behind the greatest names in the sport. Registration range between €5 / £4 and €180 / £153 depending on the event. 

July 

06 – 14 July  – International Jumping of Megève
The International Jumping of Megève isn’t just an event; it’s a narrative woven by passionate individuals. Emerging from an idea sparked one evening in July 2010, the Megève en Selle association has diligently upheld the essence of this gathering: an occasion that combines accessibility, festivity, and unity with top-tier equestrian prowess. With each passing year, approximately forty volunteers and seasoned equestrians lend their expertise and energy, ensuring the event’s continuity. Enchanted by the camaraderie and the captivating equestrian ambiance, the entire village will come alive for seven exhilarating days, with more than 30,000 visitors expected to attend this year. This communal spirit is integral to the event’s success, drawing over 500 horses and 350 riders representing a kaleidoscope of twenty nationalities, spanning from promising amateurs to seasoned professionals. The event is free to attend.

12 – 14 July – Megève Jazz Contest
The Megève Jazz Contest returns this year for the 28th addition from 12 to 14 July, inspired by the spirit of New Orleans, harmonizes the soulful notes of traditional jazz across six orchestras, orchestrating a jubilant symphony that resonates throughout every nook and cranny of the village. This year’s edition unveils a spirited competition among six orchestras, each committed to upholding the timeless essence of jazz. From bustling street corners to intimate venues, the village becomes a pulsating nexus of musical fervour for an entire weekend. The Megève Jazz Contest is free to attend.

 

19 – 21 July – Megève Blues Festival
This summer will see the 10th edition of the Megève Blues Festival, promising to ignite the town with the fiery performances of internationally acclaimed artists. An event deemed unavoidable by aficionados and newcomers alike, this year’s festival boasts an array of exciting new features. Spanning three electrifying evenings from July 19 to 21, the festival unveils a lineup brimming with talent. Friday and Saturday nights offer dual spectacles with two major concerts each, promising unforgettable experiences under the starlit sky. Sunday heralds a “Special Birthday Evening,” paying homage to Stéphane Huguet, the Creator with three exceptional concerts. Due to increasing popularity this year the Megève Blues Festival will take place in the Palais parking lot to allow for its expanding audience. Tickets are priced from €25 / £21 for an evening pass, €40 / £34 for a two evening pass and €50 / £43 for a full festival pass. There will be also some free stages in the village.

October

18 – 20 October – Toquicimes
Toquicimes is the quintessential mountain cuisine festival, a culinary rendezvous not to be missed. Since its inception in 2018, Toquicimes has curated a delectable program brimming with a medley of activities and demonstrations centred around connection, sharing, locavorism, and culinary heritage. Established as the pinnacle gathering for mountain cuisine aficionados, this gourmet extravaganza transforms the Alps into a gastronomic haven, welcoming the crème de la crème of French culinary talent. From Michelin-starred chefs to revered taste-makers, from farmers to local artisans, Toquicimes shines a spotlight on every facet of gastronomy and their invaluable expertise. Featuring professional and amateur competitions, masterclasses, culinary tastings, chef showdowns, a gourmet market, book readings, and enlightening conferences, Toquicimes stands as an autumnal beacon, beckoning professionals, enthusiasts, and culinary connoisseurs alike to indulge in unparalleled gastronomic experiences. Toquicimes is free to attend.
