VIP SKI opens Chalet Chaudanne: ‘the best-placed chalet in Méribel’
Ski-in, ski-out chalets don’t come much better than VIP SKI’s new Chalet Chaudanne which sits at the foot of the Tougnete 1 cable car in the Chaudanne bowl of Méribel. Guests can step out of the front door at 8.45am to be the first in the lift up to Inter Tougnete and warm up their ski legs on the green Perdrix and Truite run back down. From there, the rest of Méribel and the Three Valleys are waiting to be discovered and are accessible via the five ski lifts that meet at Chaudanne.
Chalet Chaudanne perches above the slope-side restaurant, Les Castors, which serves a delicious array of alpine fare during the day and provides a terrace for skiers to soak up the rays. It is closed at dinner time, so parents need not worry about the booming sounds of party-dwellers at children’s bed-time. Just a two-minute walk away, guests will find the bars and restaurants of the resort’s centre where they can get a real sense of the Méribel’s atmosphere.
Inside, the three-bedroom chalet is bursting with character. Featuring a large master bedroom with double bed, a family suite (with twin room and a smaller twin room that share a family bathroom), and a further twin room with en suite shower downstairs; six to eight guests can be comfortably accommodated in the attractive eaves of this traditional chalet. Skiers will return from a day on the mountains where their host’s freshly-baked cakes will be ready and waiting for them. They can then put their feet up and relax in front of the open fire with a DVD from VIP SKI’s collection, before tucking into a hearty three-course dinner.
Chalet Chaudanne is priced from £1059 pp, for a seven-night stay, with chalet board accommodation, return flights from Gatwick and transfers, and VIP SKI’s dedicated chalet service, arriving 15 April 2018.
