The City Ski Championships are gathering Momentum for their 17th edition and for the first time ever will be hosted in Verbier from 4th to 7th February 2016. The move to Verbier from the successful years in Crans Montana is an exciting step forward for the event as it revs up for the winter season.

Highlights will include:

  • Financial Times Alpine Forum at W Hotel
  • Race registration, welcome reception and networking dinner at the W Hotel
  • Comedy Club after dinner at the W Hotel
  • All racing, ski clinics and finish paddock on Verbier’s fantastic north facing race course
  • Prize giving gala dinner on the mountain at Mouton Noir on Saturday with a top live band
  • Momentum Ski Festival Weekend après-ski programme and Thursday welcome dinner showcasing Verbier’s best venues & trendy nightlife.

The City Ski Championships embody the spirit of friendly competition, teamwork and sporting value and are combined with the Financial Times Alpine Forum. These two fixtures provides Europe‘s business and financial community with an opportunity to network and entertain clients in a personal, relaxed environment, in the midst of exciting ski racing. The event serves as a platform for multiple bespoke corporate hospitality programmes throughout the long weekend.

Past celebrity guest attendees include Marcus Brigstocke, Amy Williams, Damon Hill, Colin Jackson, Marcus Wareing, Sir Steven Redgrave, Rufus Hound, Tommy Moe and Heston Blumenthal, together with the UK’s leading ski figures: Graham Bell, Konrad Bartelski and Matt Chilton.

For Momentum Ski, this is a unique opportunity to offer partners and participants alike an amazing ski & networking weekend in the prestigious ski resort of Verbier. Skiracers and guests alike will enjoy Verbier’s excellent skiing domain and buzzing après-ski. The event has also been opened up to Swiss guests and Internationals taking it to the next level.

Pierre- Andre Gremaud, Marketing Director of Verbier Tourist Office said; “As a classic Swiss resort, the choice of so many keen skiers and even royalty, we are thrilled to have attracted the City Ski Championships to Verbier for the foreseeable future. Despite the expert skiing on offer, lively après ski and luxurious surroundings it is also the lesser known areas and aspects of Verbier that will offer a new chapter to this festivals history. We look forward to meeting all the competitors in the autumn.”
