Megève – a Perfect Haven for Wilderness Seeking

We are all very conscious coronavirus has affected consumer attitudes towards travel and sustainability. The pandemic has increased awareness of the environmental and social impacts of tourism. In the social distancing era, Megève Tourism believes holidays centred around nature will soar in popularity. Families will crave wide-open spaces and inspiring views after being in lockdown, and escaping to the mountains will feel safer than visiting hot, crowded beaches. The real draw, however, will be the many miles of meadows for exploring and numerous lakes to splash in. The restorative benefits of being in the mountains also make it the ideal choice of holiday to recuperate, soak up on vitamin D and fathom the chaos of Covid-19.

After months of us all pacing around our homes, it is high time to let off steam. Run, play, dance, laugh out loud … To help let go, Megève has put together a whirlwind of colourful, fun-filled activities, shows, walks and concerts of all kinds. Megève is always adapting and is proud to offer extremely rich entertainment with 940 activities and entertainment slots in total aimed at families. Let us not forget the little angels of course; Megève has just what they need for a wonderful holiday too.

Megève Tourism has launched the “Summer Collections” for the warmer months. These are inspirational notebooks highlighting the richness of its territory and local know-how, which will guide the visitor throughout their stay as well as highlight the tourism diversity in the resort. There are more than 130 activities to choose, from perfume creation to souffle making with 65 newly created free activities introduced this summer. The themes incorporate the Original Megève Collection, Serenity Collection, Trends Collection and Sensation Collection, which have been defined in connection with village values.

The real need to get back to basics through nature to appreciate the great outdoors and intriguing traditions have been brought together in the ‘Trends and Original’ collection. Here, guests can take part in a series of mountain activities as well as learn authentic skills that highlight Megève’s heritage and its history. The ‘Trends and Sensations’ collection will showcase sporting activities as well as culinary, artistic and unusual events. There are more than 130 refreshing activities to get that ‘Feel Good’ factor in the mountains this summer and the drive from Calais, although eight hours, could not be simpler or more picturesque as the mountains approach. To find the best-tailored experiences, head to Megève.
