Jenny Jones announced as Snow-Camp patron!

June 12th, 2014

Olympic bronze medalist Jenny Jones has confirmed that she will be joining the Snow-Camp team as a patron.

On joining Snow-Camp Jenny said: ‘I have been a supporter of Snow-Camp for a number of years, and have enjoyed seeing the charity develop and expand its fantastic work. As a snowboarder I love the way Snow-Camp uses my sport to support young people who wouldn’t ever get the chance to get involved in snowsports – and beyond that, to enable them to get qualifications and access to employment in the snowsports industry.’

Jenny joins the team of existing Snow-Camp patrons which includes Ski Sunday presenters Graham Bell and Ed Leigh, leading ski coach Warren Smith and recent newly-weds Chemmy Alcott and Dougie Crawford.

Jenny continues; ‘I’m stoked to be coming onboard as a patron in this key time in the charities life, as the Snow-Camp team seek to expand their programmes to other cities in the UK. I hope I can play a positive role in this next phase, as I am committed to seeing positive opportunities for young people in snowsports, especially after snowboarding was given such a great platform at the recent Winter Olympics. In my new role as patron, I’m looking forward to working with Snow-Camp to make this happen!’

Dan Charlish, Snow-Camp Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jenny onboard as patron. She’s an incredible role model for our young people and an inspiration to so many after what she has achieved in snowsports. It’s a huge boost to have Jenny supporting our work, and fantastic that even after the Olympic medal and all her other achievements, she remains committed to ensuring she can use her success to support others. We are very much looking forward to working with Jenny more closely as we seek to expand Snow-Camp programmes across new cities”.
