Alta Badia Vintage Party 2015

Alta Badia – The Skicarousel Vintage Party

New for winter 2015, Alta Badia will mark the end of the winter season with a vintage party on the snow. It will take place in the heart of the South Tyrolean Dolomites on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April 2015. Head to Alta Badia this spring, where skiing enthusiasts can enjoy unforgettable days on the slopes until 12th April 2015. Alta Badia has chosen to mark the end of the 2014/2015 winter season by organising a new retro-style celebration of days gone by. The resort will host a big party and recreate the atmosphere of a skiing mecca of the past in the valley and on the ski slopes. On Saturday night, various themed events will take place in the clubs in the valley. Each bar and participating restaurant including La Bercia, Fornella and the Snack Bar Stadio will select a vintage period of their choice and convey the atmosphere which reflects that specific time both in the music and decor. The old-fashioned skiing vibe will also be available at 2000m on the mountain in the refuges, where local traditional cuisine will be served on their menus. On Sunday, skiers can take part in a vintage skiing competition with bamboo poles on the La Para slope, where one of the last J-bar lifts is still operational. Everyone can take part in the competition, but only ‘old’ skis are permitted, not carving skis. Awards will be handed out at the après-ski haunt L’Murin, where a “Style contest” will also take place to celebrate the most original vintage clothing. Throughout the day, the Bioch, Boconara, Crëp de Munt, I Tablá, la Marmotta, La Para, Las Vegas and Moritzino refuges will also provide music and entertainment centred on the vintage theme of the weekend. Pre-register by e-mailing lavilla@altabadia.org, or sign up for the race on the day of the event. All participants will be asked to wear retro skiing clothing and use retro skiing equipment for the entire weekend with the aim of creating a “vintage” environment in the entire skiing area. This event is organised by the Alta Badia Tourism Board and the Skicarosello Consortium. For more information please visit www.altabadia.org
