World first attempt for SolarStratos and Géraldine Fasnacht above Verbier, Switzerland
Bring together Raphaël Domjan, pilot and founder of SolarStratos, Géraldine Fasnacht, the famous Swiss sportswoman, as well as Verbier in the Val de Bagnes, renowned for its international events and new partner of the SolarStratos solar adventure and it’s time to set a record. The two-seater solar aircraft will perform a spectacular and unprecedented demonstration flight, using only renewable energy on June 18, 2022 (weather dependant) in Verbier for an exceptional aerial show for a world first. SolarStratos is committed to making all generations dream for a clean and accessible aviation of the future.
Raphaël Domjan, pilot of the solar plane, and Géraldine Fasnacht, well-known as the «bird woman» thanks to her spectacular jumps in base jumping and wingsuit from the highest peaks, take up this new challenge together on June 18, during the first favourable weather window.
It’s time to mark the occasion with the exceptional theatre of an aerial premiere never achieved before in the world. Raphaël Domjan and Géraldine Fasnacht are known for their taste in extreme sports performances requiring a perfect knowledge of risk management with the constantly renewed desire to share their experiences to the masses.
Their goal? To pursue the human, lifelong dream of flying in complete freedom by demonstrating the unlimited potential of natural, renewable energy. Sports skills, technological innovation, collective intelligence and passion are the keys to this exceptional demonstration.
Verbier, perched at 1,500 m on a sunny plateau, is a renowned destination for sporting pursuits and adrenaline junkies year round.
