Subli’Cimes is back with some enthralling new worlds in La Plagne, the French Alps
The seventh edition of La Plagne’s original festival, Subli’Cimes, will return to the slopes from 7-12 April 2023. Free to anyone who has a valid lift pass, this quirky, interactive and entertaining event is spread across La Plagne’s five spectacular summits. Get ready to relax in a Jacuzzi, join a roller disco dance floor, and dive into a huge ball pool!

Go back in time and get into the groove at the “Roller Disco” at la Roche de Mio (2,739 m). Channel those 70s and 80s vibes, complete with neon lights, arcade games, and a juke box, topped off with a sparkling disco ball. Take off those skis and boots and pull on a pair of roller skates (rented on site) and glide around the 300 m² rink, high in the mountains. When feeling peckish, tuck into some delicious, sweet snacks, including popcorn, cupcakes, milk shakes and cookies. So, think John Travolta or Olivia Newton-John and dance the afternoon away.
The mountains are also an ideal place to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. And while relaxing, why not do it from a bubbling Jacuzzi or steaming sauna surrounded by snow? The “Zen & Spa Altitude” at the Grande Rochette (2,508 m) is back by popular demand. Pack a swimsuit in the morning, ready to experience this wellness world. Other highlights comprise workshops with herbal teas and healthy smoothies to taste. Wooden flooring around the area means feet can be kept dry when pulling off, and putting on, boots.
Defy all odds and discover an “Intergalactic Voyage” at la Rossa (2,380 m). Guests can explore a snow cave home to spectacular carvings of some well-known characters from the movies, and even dress up in costumes and challenge others to a – friendly – duel with lightsabers. May the Force (and fun) be with you!
Face up to those fears at “Not Scared…!” at Le Fornelet (1,970 m). Here, older kids (and big kids) can try the “Ejector”, a reverse bungee that (safely) catapults its guests 20 metres into the air. Afterwards, if legs haven’t turned to jelly, then other activities include laser quest and mini trampolines. Plus, why not join a workshop with drinks and tastings to help recover after the dramatic ordeal?
Finally, don’t miss “The Big Dive” at the top of Plan Bois (1,600 m). Perfect for families with younger children, holidaymakers will find a massive ball pool featuring a slide, a spinning wheel, and a diving board with a pit for wacky souvenir photos. Kids can also help themselves to drinks and sweet treats before jumping back in.
