Make the most of flexible festive breaks with Pierre & Vacances
Everyone loves a white Christmas, and with local skiers at resorts such as Val d’Isère, Alpe d’Huez, Val Thorens and Courchevel already enjoying the snow during ‘preview days’ prior to the official opening; Winter 2016-17 looks to be a promising ski season.
Thanks to Pierre & Vacances’ flexible stays, that are available for both Christmas and New Year holidays, skiers can book their early-season breaks whenever they like and be among the first to take advantage of the recent snowfall.
Since Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on Sundays this year, Pierre & Vacances’ flexible arrival dates are ideal for holidaymakers who don’t wish to travel on these special occasions. Instead, they can still enjoy a seven-night stay beginning mid-week and opt for flight times and prices to suit their schedule. Families with little ones will have time to get settled in the resort before Christmas Day without children being tired from travelling, plus party-goers can head home in time for their New Year’s Eve soirées.
Cathy Rankin, UK Sales & Marketing Manager at Groupe Pierre & Vacances says: “Although arriving on Saturday and staying for seven nights has remained the most popular option (around 40 per cent of customers), a significant number of guests have still chosen seven nights as their preferred duration but with Fridays, Mondays, Tuesdays and New Year’s Day being the other preferred arrival dates.”
In addition to flexible arrival dates, Pierre & Vacances’ flexible durations are also helping holidaymakers achieve their perfect holiday:
Cathy Rankin adds: “there is a marked trend of customers (eight per cent) choosing a short break of up to five nights returning before Christmas. Twenty eight per cent of customers over the festive period have chosen durations longer than seven nights, with eight, nine or ten nights being strongly preferred.”
Flexible durations are beneficial for those restricted on time who look for short four- or five-night stays to unwind without taking up too much annual leave, while those wishing to maximise on quality time with family and friends can prolong their festive break for as long as they wish. With so much to discover in the extensive resorts, skiers and snowboarders will have plenty of ground to cover and more time to explore.
