From heart-pounding mountain biking trails to serene hiking paths weaving through lush forests, Morzine-Avoriaz caters to every outdoor enthusiast’s desires. Thrill-seekers can test their mettle on world-class downhill tracks, while families can enjoy leisurely strolls along picturesque alpine meadows. With an abundance of crystal-clear lakes and cascading waterfalls, the region offers ample opportunities for swimming, paddleboarding, and simply basking in nature’s tranquillity.

28th – 30th June – Pass’portes du Soleil
Pass’Portes du Soleil is an opportunity to explore the region via various day-long routes, including mountain biking, eVTT, Gravel, Pedestrian, and Kids routes. Offering flexibility, participants can join in on any Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, starting from various designated stations across the area. With 80 km of MTB tracks, 13 lifts, and breath-taking scenery, this mountain event promises an unforgettable experience. Departing from Morzine, discover the unmissable landscapes of the Portes du Soleil including the Col du Corbier, Vallée d’Abondance, famous for its cheese, and the Lac de Montriond (price from €68 / £59 pp).

July 

6th – 7th July – FISE Freestyle Tour
The Savoie Mont Blanc Freestyle Tour, presented by FISE, is set to return to the picturesque slopes of Avoriaz from the 6th to the 7th of July. Offering a thrilling array of contests in Roller, Skateboard, and Freestyle Scooter, the event caters to amateurs and pros alike, providing a platform for riders to showcase their talent and compete against the best. Adding to the excitement, a dedicated skatepark will be installed for the entire summer season, ensuring that the thrill lasts long beyond the event dates. The FISE Freestyle tour is free for spectators to watch. 

5th – 7th July – Spartan Race
From 5 – 7 July, Morzine-Avoriaz will welcome 7,000 Spartans, keen to take on high-altitude lakes, dizzying pathways, and natural waterfalls. In addition to the three main distances, there is an Ultra marathon to compete in, with 60 obstacles over 50 km. Prices from €125 / £107 per adult and €30 / £26 for kids.

11th – 14th July – Morzine-Avoriaz Harley Days
Morzine sets the stage for the ultimate convergence of riders and rock enthusiasts, courtesy of HOG France’s exceptional Rock poster event. Nestled in the heart of the village, this gathering promises a plethora of entertainment hubs. Renowned as a yearly ritual for riders and rock aficionados across Europe, the Morzine Harley Days return with a “pure rock” edition. Anticipating over 10,000 motorcycles and 30,000 attendees at the Morzine Avoriaz resort, the event epitomizes the thrill of Harley-Davidson riding amidst the serene Alps. By day, participants can indulge in extraordinary rides through the picturesque landscape, followed by electrifying 100% rock concerts in the evening.

15th – 19th July – Morzine en pleine nature
Designed for nature lovers, take part in numerous outdoor workshops including sophrology, foraging, tree climbing, hiking, and yoga all led by wellness professionals. Learn how to look after number one, whilst reconnecting with the spectacular landscapes of the French Alps. Plus, with workshops for families, including cookery sessions, why not do it all together? Workshops will be priced from €2 / £1.75 pp. 

25th July and 15th August – Fêtes de l’Artistanat Avoriaz
Avoriaz comes alive with the vibrant celebration of mountain artisans, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the unique craftsmanship and traditions of alpine life at the Fêtes de l’Artisanat! Delve into the rich tapestry of products crafted by local artisans, offering a glimpse into the essence of the region. Beyond the artisanal showcase, the event doubles as an outdoor shopping extravaganza, promising a day of family fun and fantastic discoveries. With great clearance sales from Avoriaz traders offering promotional rates of up to -60%, attendees can seize the opportunity to snag remarkable deals while relishing the festive atmosphere.

August

22nd – 26th July and 5th – 9th August – Royaume des Marmots
Over these dates, kids will be entertained with fun workshops, lively games, street shows, and delicious snacks. Dive into ball pits, try some thrilling parkour, and uncover buried treasure. Plenty of the activities are free; families need not break the bank whilst having an incredible time in the centre of resort.

10th August – Trails des Hauts-Forts
Set off on an exciting trail-running adventure from Morzine to Avoriaz, making sure to enjoy the mesmerising views of the Portes du Soleil en route. Choose from three distances 23 km, 36 km, and 52 km, the 52 km course can be completed alone or in pairs. Throughout the course, volunteers will be on hand to cheer on and refuel the competitors. Prices from €27 / £24 pp.

24th – 30th August – Avoriaz Danse Festival
The 14th edition of the Avoriaz Danse Festival invites enthusiasts to immerse themselves in a world of movement and rhythm. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Avoriaz 1800, the festival offers a diverse array of dance classes held in various tents scattered throughout the resort. Each day presents an opportunity for participants to refine their skills and explore new styles. As dusk descends, the festivities continue with themed evenings, where attendees can showcase their newfound moves and revel in the talent of seasoned instructors through captivating demonstrations. Whether honing their craft or simply enjoying the vibrant atmosphere, the Avoriaz Danse Festival promises an unforgettable celebration of dance. A week pass is priced from €155 / £133 pp and a day pass is priced from €45 / £39 pp.

5th – 7th September Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine
The Mont-Blanc Morzine Rally stands as a pinnacle event in the French Automobile Championship, drawing enthusiasts from far and wide to the scenic town of Morzine. For over two decades, the end of summer heralds the arrival of this legendary rally, captivating audiences with its thrilling special stages set amidst the breath-taking landscape. From the challenging Joux Verte pass to the iconic Joux Plane pass, the rally showcases the prowess of drivers navigating through rugged terrain. Adding to the spectacle are vintage and historic cars, delighting rally aficionados and spectators alike, who converge from across France and Europe. The Rallye Mont-Blanc is free for spectators.
