VIP SKI reopens five properties in Morzine for the Summer

Although more often associated with ski holidays, VIP SKI also open a selection of chalets throughout the summer months. This summer, VIP SKI will open five properties in Morzine, carefully selected as the perfect location for a summer holiday in the mountains. All the chalets are ideally located so guests can easily access all the activities on offer in the Alps. With a range of properties offering self-catered, B&B and half board options there is something for everyone. 

With just the tallest of peaks still covered with snow and the sun shining high in the sky all day long, the Alps are a spectacular place for a summer holiday, with the mountains acting as an adventure playground for adults and kids alike. With its pine forests, magnificent views of Mont-Blanc, and wide range of sporting activities, Morzine, in the French Alps, is a popular destination not only during the winter months but also throughout the summer. Morzine’s beautiful car-free village, is the ideal base for nature lovers, with access to the Portes du Soleil’s 21 chairlifts and cable cars, 200km of signed paths and 15 mapped biking routes, visitors can choose from a number of activities including cycling, hiking, and climbing. A summer in Morzine is packed full of events with the annual Pass’Portes, the ultimate cycling festival taking place in June and the return of the Tour de France, which will pass through Morzine for the 22nd time in July 2023.

This summer, visitors can try a number of new exciting activities including goat agility at the Alpage de Nyon. The workshop, designed especially for children, will teach participants how to put on the goats’ collars, brush them, take them for a walk, and tackle several fun obstacles. The 30-minute workshop costs from €9 pp. Avid mountain-bike riders can test their limits on the new two-day gravel circuit during the Pass’Portes du Soleil event from 23-24 June 2023. Departing from Morzine, discover the unmissable landscapes of the Portes du Soleil including the Col du Corbier, Vallée d’Abondance, and the Lac de Montriond. For the nature lovers, discover the mountain terrain with Véronique, who will share her expertise of the abundant wildlife in the region. Following Veronique as she will explain how to forage for wild garlic, pick delicious blueberries, sweet chestnuts, and earthy nettles. Afterwards, taste the findings with some delicious freshly produced cheese.

The chalet is the perfect choice for a group of friends or a family, with two spacious bedrooms, an open plan living area complete with comfortable sofa and a south facing balcony, perfect for soaking up the mountain views. Colibri Uno and the Colibri Penthouse are within a stone’s throw of the Pleney telecabine in the heart of the authentic Alpine town. The Colibri apartments are part of a designer chalet, that has been converted from an old, disused cinema on the high street. Characteristic of VIP SKI’s other chalets; the two apartments are spacious and have all the modern comforts. Both Colibri apartments have four bedrooms at the quiet rear of the building, each with a flat screen TV and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The wraparound balcony is complete with a hot tub, from which guests can enjoy a drink and admire the sun setting behind the mountains.
