Sea and snow, rum punch and vin chaud, jerk chicken and cheese fondue, Butler & Lloyd…
Butler & Lloyd is a new specialist agency run by husband and wife team Bella and Will, who have extensive knowledge of skiing and the travel industry. This week they launch an exciting range of luxury chalet, hotel, and villa holidays for families in the French Alps along with sun-and-sea in Jamaica.
Why Alps and Island, two such contrastingly different destinations? “Skiing and Jamaica are our own family favourites, says Bella Butler, so it makes sense to share our intimate knowledge of both.”
Do you have to have children to travel with Butler & Lloyd? “Absolutely not,” says Bella, “our expertise is in family holidays, but our chalets and villas are equally suited to couples, groups or friends, or corporate entertainment.
“But if you’re taking young children with you to the mountains or the beach, we want to make sure that you have a fully enjoyable and relaxing time.
“Having three of our own, we know all the potentially stressful pitfalls. This is why we arrange everything from childcare with ski lessons in the Alps to providing a dedicated swim nanny in Jamaica. As a parent, all you have to do is let go and enjoy yourself.”
In France
Catered and uncatered chalets in 10 resorts include Les Arcs, Courchevel, Chamonix, Les Gets, Morzine, La Plagne, Reberty Les Menuires, La Rosière, Val d’Isère, Val Thorens with three half-board hotels in the resorts of Les Gets, Morzine, and Val d’Isère.
Catered chalet prices start from just £410pp per week to Chalet Chambertin in Morzine to £2,380pp in magnificent Chalet Chinchilla in Courchevel 1850.
Hotels range from the friendly four-star La Bergerie in Morzine to the sumptuous five-star Les Barmes de l’Ours in Val d’Isère
Butler & Lloyd can also provide sensibly-priced self-catered apartments; prices start from Résidence La Mourra in Courchevel 1650 from £190pp, based on six sharing a three-bedroom apartment.
In Jamaica
Luxurious beachside villas with stunning views at Tryall Bay, Discovery Bay, Runaway Bay, Silver Sands and Half Moon all come with a dedicated staff of at least three, including a cook and butler. All have their own private beach (or access to a private beach club). Private nannies are available. Actual food costs are extra.
Essentially, Jamaica is a year-round destination. Although the weather is obviously more reliable in some months. Bella says; “Low season is June to October. However, it’s still about 1,000 times better than our summer at home – and you can get a five-star villa for the price of an overpriced beach house in Cornwall… I know where our family will be going next August!”
Prices start from £323pp staying at Seahaven at Discovery Bay to £1,383pp for the seven-bedroom Sugar Hill at Tryall Bay. Prices quoted do not include travel.
